The information on this page applies only to books purchased directly from Stonerose.
Reseller discounts: all purchasers of 10 or more copies (may be mixed) or 5 copies of a single title may use the Wholesale Order Form. Except for resellers within the State of Florida seeking exemption from Florida sales tax, no proof of reseller status is required. All other sales are considered retail sales (and must use the Retail Order Form), and full retail prices will be charged, regardless of whether or not the purchaser is a bona fide reseller.
Terms: Generally, books are shipped when payment (a check or money order) is received. A $10/order processing fee will apply to all orders requiring an invoice for payment, i.e, if a check in the correct amount is not enclosed with the order. Prepayment is required on all international orders. Stonerose reserves the right to refuse purchase orders (without accompanying checks in the correct amount) from unfamiliar purchasers. If unsure, of a price or policy contact Stonerose for a quote. No charge will be made for the correction of simple mathematical errors. There is no charge for simple reciepts to be enclosed with the order (upon request)
Receipts: As cancelled checks are adequate reciepts for most Stonerose customers, reciepts are provided only on request. If you need a reciept, check the "Receipt requested" box..
Your telephone & email address: Optional, in case there are reasons to contact you about your order.
Special handling: Shipping (by U.S. Postal Service, book rate) and handling charges to addresses within the U.S. are included in the prices given on the Ordering Form. If you require different services, contact Stonerose in advance for a quote.
Evaluation copies: Any individual or any institution may purchase an evaluation copy or set (limit one per individual, address, or institution). Evaluation copies may be returned in within 45 days from the shipping datefor any reasonno questions asked. A full refund of the actual purchase price paid (including shipping and handling charges) will be made for returned copies received by Stonerose in as new condition The cost of return postage (book rate) will be added to your refund. In effect, Stonerose pays the cost of shipping both ways.
Defective books or books damaged in shipping to you are returnable within 45 days from the shipping date. A full refund of the actual purchase price paid (including p&h) and the cost of return postage (book rate) will be added to your refund. However, Stonerose reserves the sole right to determine what constitutes defective or damaged condition, and to deny refunds, or issue partial refunds for returned copies which are not deemed (in Stoneroses sole judgement) to qualify as defective or damaged. Other than the claimed defect or damage in shipping to you---returned books must be recieved by Stonerose in "as new" condition.
Non-wholesale-quantity orders (other than evaluation copies) are returnable in "as new" condition within 45 days from the shipping date, but p&h will be deducted from your refund, and return postage will not be refunded. However any order which qualifies as an evaluation copy (or set) order (regardless of how you filled out the order form) will be regarded as an evaluation copy (or set), and may be returned under the applicable conditions given above. Why? If you've already used your evaluation copy privileges, then you should know what to expect, and should have no reason to be disppointed.
Wholesale returns: Unsold copies of wholesale orders may be returned in as new condition for a full refund (including book-rate return shipping) for up to 1 year (but not less than 9 months) following purchase. No questions asked. Partial refunds will be issued on a simple pro rata basis. For example, if you return 4 out of 10 books purchased, your refund will be 4/10 of the total original purchase price, plus book-rate return postage for 4 books. Notice that this refund even includes the original p&h costs.
Unsold copies of wholesale orders may be returned in "as new" condition earlier than specified above, but p&h will be deducted from your refund, and return postange will not be refunded. Why? In exchange for taking the risk of paying postage both ways, Stonerose expects you to have made a sincere effort to sell the books.
Notice that the Reseller Returns policy applies even in the case (not likely for several years) that a second edition is issued, with the following additional benefit: At your option, you may exchange "as new" copies of the old edition of your wholesale order for copies of the new edition at any time for up to 1 year from your purchase date with no penalty (that is, Stonerose will pay return postage, etc.). Adjustments may apply depending on the price you actually paid for the old edition, the direct price of the new edition, etc.
Books damaged during return: You are responsible for any and all damage to books during return shipping to Stonerose. You are advised to pack the copies carefully and to purchase supplemental insurance if adequate insurance is not included in the shipping fee. See the "as new" condition policy below.
No C.O.D. or postage-due returns accepted.
