Help Me Please!
As described in Coming Soon, my current project is A Glossary of Mining. If you know of any specialized or obscure glossaries of mining, particularly glossaries containing historic terms, please tell me about it (or them). If you would be interested in reviewing “chapters” as they are written, I will be grateful for your help.
A little later in this project I’ll be looking for photos of particular items of mining equipment, etc., or particularly good diagrams. If you know of any obscure diagrams or illustrations (perhaps in historic catalogs), I would appreciate the information. While my profit margin (if any) will be too small for me to pay a fee for the use of your photos, if I use your photos, I will of course acknowledge the source, and you’ll probably qualify for a free copy of the Glossary, or at least a very substantial coupon. If you have photos that you think would be suitable, please contact me by email.
Similarly, I am collecting information for the 2nd Edition of my Guidebook to Mining in America. If you know of any sites that I missed, or you can provide me with additional information about the sites already in the Guidebook, I will be most grateful. I will similarly appreciate appropriate photos for entries for which I don’t already have photos. Again, I can’t offer to pay a fee, but I will offer my thanks, and possibly a free copy of the Guidebook, or at least a very substantial coupon.
